TIPS FOR A STRESS-FREE ROAD TRIP THIS HOLY WEEK

Gusto mo bang mag-out-of-town this coming Holy Week? Reality check: almost everyone does! Whether you’re planning to do Visita Iglesia with your family or bond with your friends by satisfying your “vitamin sea” needs at the beach, you, along with our fellow Filipinos, will be spending the long weekend on the road. Here are three simple tips that can make your road trips more smooth-sailing:

1. Research your routes. Traffic conditions change during the Holy Week season, so it’s important to study your routes. Remember that the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) usually takes this chance to perform road reblocking and road repair services in the metro, while processions in rural areas can slow down your journey.

2. Be prepared. “Buti pa ang biglaang lakad natutuloy, ang planado, hindi!” Sounds familiar? Many things can happen during the long weekend. What you’ve plan as a laidback staycation at your ancestral home might turn into a spontaneous barkada joyride to Baguio. Pack essentials in your car (e.g. extra clothes, power banks, water, toiletries, first-aid kit, snacks, etc.) para kaya mong bumiyahe wherever, whenever!

3. Stop by any of our SMRA (Summer Motorist Roadside Assistance) Hubs and receive freebies, which include a 21-point check-up and minor tune-ups! This way, you can make sure that your Hyundai can handle your Holy Week adventures without suffering from unexpected car troubles.
